UBA publishes the names of forex defaulters as directed by CBN

Forex defaulters – Following the CBN recent war against indecent forex compromise and price manipulation as acclaimed by the BDCs, the Central Bank of Nigeria has resolved to suspend supply to the BDCs rather reverts to using the commercial banks aggressively to meet the demands of citizens in need of FX.

These were categorized under the need for PTA and BTA.

Sequel to this, the apex bank has lamented criminal practices by some customers who purportedly present fake Visas or cancelled their tickets two weeks after the FX has been acquired.

CBN had expressed immense concern and urged all customers who have obtained the FX without travelling to return same to the banks, otherwise the banks should publish the details of all defaulters on their website after a short notice, thereafter prosecution will be meted by the relevant financial crime authority.

Furtherance to this, UBA has published the names of defaulters who obtained FX from its branches on false pretense.
