How to start drop servicing business in the U.S.A, U.K, Nigeria, etc..

Drop servicing – Are you aware that about 4.95 billion people use the internet around the world in 2022, this represents 62.5% of the world’s total population according to Datareportal.

By this evidence, people now feel comfortable making purchases online since its easier and stress free.

For example, people buy goods online and pay via credit card from the comfort of their residence country, such goods are shipped to the their destinations in safe custody.

That said, when you hear “Drop servicing” what comes to mind? “Dropshipping” of course.

However, dropshipping and drop servicing are two different business chains on their own capacity.

Dropshipping

Dropshipping is an order fulfilment where store doesn’t keep the products it sells in stock, instead the store purchases such products from a third-party supplier who does the shipping directly to the customer.

The store keeps the gain overhead which is the difference between the official price and the amount agreed with the customer for the products.

Assuming ABC store samples items on its online store, it does not necessarily has such product it sampled. A customer CDE then makes enquiry to purchase such item, the store takes the order having agreed on the price with the customer.

The store then sources the item from a third-party EFG who has it in its store. Upon successful payment the third-party ships the product to the customer CDE according to instruction by ABC store.

Note: The store purchases the item for a lesser price than it negotiated with the customer then makes its profit from the difference.

Drop serving

Drop servicing in this case deals with services other than goods, this is an arrangement where a service provider positions himself as an expert who is knowledgeable about a service say; programming, website design, animation, content writing, copywriting, etc, when someone wants such service.

He negotiates price with the customer, having reached a compromise, the drop service provider outsources the service to an industry expert usually a freelancer who is knowledgeable enough about the service or has the skill.

The expert provides the service for a fee, the drop service provider pays the expert a fraction from the amount agreed with the customer, then delivers the service to the customer finally.

The beauty of drop service business is you must not have the required skill to cash-out from a client, all you need is the requisite expertise I’ll show you in this guide.

Just like you don’t need to have a physical product in dropshipping, you do not need to be skillful in drop service to reap your own share of the pie.

Money is being made in this business every seconds, I mean real money, what are you waiting for?

Mr. Raphael Orji then hires an expert copywriter for the job for a fee. The copywriter delivers the job within a time frame, Mr. Raphael Orji in turn delivers the copywriting job to the customer/client within agreed time.

How to start drop servicing business

You will need to pay keen attention, getting it right the first time will guarantee your success in this business, given this you will need to follow the steps outlined below exactly as detailed.

Step one: Choose a service

Do not try your hands on every damn thing at the same time, choose a niche and capitalize on it.

In this case you should understand profitable niches in this business, they include

  • Digital marketing
  • Graphic design
  • Programming
  • Writing (Copywriting, project writing, editing, etc.)
  • Video creation, animation, etc.

Step two: Create a website/brand

The idea behind creating a website is to position yourself as an expert/professional in the niche you’ve chosen. The website is your store, a web presence that customers can always trust.

A drop servicer should be seen and not heard, just like customers will locate your offline stores for patronage, this is how your website will be visited to check out the service you render, it gives you credibility too.

You do not need a task coding to design a website, a simple WordPress with responsive theme will do.

Create a few categories that describe your service.

Example: About/description page, contact page/very important for clients to reach you, hire me page/tell potential clients what you do and why they should hire you as the best hand, etc.

Step three: Drive traffic/leads to your drop servicing website

Having created a professional website you’ll need to haunt for customers, you won’t go looking after them with guns, but by driving traffic to your website.

How to drive traffic to your website

This is where you will need a bit technicality, though a simple one. Driving traffic to the website involves a number of strategies I will reveal to you.

#1. Content marketing/SEO: Content marketing involves writing and publishing content that endears to your audience. In this case I’ll prefer educative content my clients will learn from.

You should publish content that falls into your niche purpose, educates and solves the problems of your clients.

Having curate this content the next thing you will need to adhere to is the SEO strategy, SEO means “Search Engine Optimization.” Here’s a practice where you make your content appealing to search Engine especially Google.

Why would you want to write a content that would appeal to Google?

Google is the biggest search engine and by far if you are looking to embark on content marketing without spending a dime, then SEO is the way to go.

The beautiful thing here is that Google will send you continuous traffic for free, however, subject to doing your SEO the right way.

I have enjoyed SEO proficiency in my blogs so I know what it means, never spent a dime on content marketing, all I spend is patience for my content to be crawled and index by Google.

The basics of SEO

  • Keyword research: To benefit from Google traffic, you will need to do a keyword research before writing and hitting the publish button. The essence of keyword research is to build your content around central phrase that your readers/clients are searching for on Google.
  • Format your content: Format your content into readable forms for ease of access
  • Install the YOAST SEO plugin on your website: it’s a pointer on what needs be improved while publishing, without which Google may not index your content
  • Interlink your content: Always link your newer content with the older ones, this allows Google to index and find your content with a network structure, it improves your session and reduces bounce rate, etc.

#2. Run ads: Running ads on social media platforms/Google AdWords is a way of getting found by clients too. While this may produce a timely result, it could be expensive for you and only guarantees instant result.

The principle of ads is based on instant results, thereafter you will need to run further ads to get seen.

Probably why I prefer the SEO strategy since it will drive unique traffic to my websites so long the website can be found on the internet.

The older a content published with SEO strategy the better it gets on Google result.

You may run ads on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, etc.

Step four: Find freelancers

You finally got your first client from the leads generation strategies listed above, you’ve agreed on a price now, it’s time to find a perfect freelancer for the job.

Where and how do you find a freelancer for the job at hand?

That’s an easy one, since you do not have this skill you will have to go to freelance websites like

  • Fiverr
  • Upwork, etc to source for a freelancer who will deliver.

Sign up on any of the job websites above or any other proficient one. On these platforms you will meet expert freelancers with requisite skill set, give them the job, bargain the price and schedule a date for submission.

You will usually outsource the job for a lesser amount than you agreed with the client in the first place, the difference becomes your profit.

Assuming you agreed on a writing service for $1,000, with a client, you may outsource it for $300 then keep the balance of $700 as your profit.

This is how you make cool money with drop servicing business.

Step five: Check quality and deliver the project

Having received the job from the freelancer, check the quality, on the ground that you are satisfied with the job done, forward it to the client who will review and accept.

Note: Always reach an agreement with a freelancer to return a job for correction in case a client requests for it, additionally, work with freelancers who will stick to time and deadline.

Nothing kills this business like delivery failure at the set date, take note.

Step six: Ask for testimonials in the end

Always ask clients for testimonials having delivered a perfect job.

Why do you need a testimonial?

You will need to upload it on your website, it’ll always serve as a convincing evidence for potential clients to trust your brand for similar projects.

Conclusion

Drop servicing business can be done by anyone who a desires to benefit from the freelance industry, there’s no rocket science involved, now you have the A, B and C of all you need to get started.

I would love to read your progress report as you summon the guts to get started.
