ATL money transfer is one of the most convenient options to send and receive money in African countries. With the emergence of ATL money transfer the problem of sending and receiving remittances in Africa is now a thing of the past.

How to sign up on ATL

  • Kindly visit the ATL website
  • Go to the Menu
  • Click on register and provide your valid email address and a password
  • Provide your personal information where advised
  • Verify your mobile number so you can send money
  • Verify your email by clicking on “Verify email” and enable 2 factor authentication by providing a 4-digit PIN.

How to send money on ATL website

Sending money on ATL is not a difficult task itself, kindly follow the below steps to get your transaction completed in few minutes.

Step one: On the home page click on “Send money”

Step two: Enter the amount

Step three: Tap the dropdown to choose destination country the amount due and corresponding fee will be updated automatically.

Step four: Choose how you wish the beneficiary receives the money, either via mobile wallet or through local bank transfer

Step five: Complete the receiver’s details, you will be advised on where to send the payment alongside a tracking code to track your transfer.

How to receive money on ATL money transfer

How to receive money on this platform largely depends on the country you are sending the money to in Africa.

Where you choose mobile money, you should have the phone number of the receiver, for bank transfer you should have the account number of the receiver and the bank’s BIC/SWIFT.

For a cash pick up the receiver will have to visit an agent location in his/her country, for a home delivery the receiver’s home address is necessary.

How to verify your ATL account

The ATL money transfer platform is designed in a way that you can send money without getting your account verified even. However, to increase your transfer limit you will have to verify your account.

Sequel to this, you should have verified both your phone number and email address manually by following recommended procedures.

That said, to verify your account for maximum threshold, you will have to upload your identity card which could be any of the below,

  • International passport, national ID card, EU national resident permit, driving license
  • A proof of address in any of utility bill, British gas, electricity or bank statement, local authority tax bill, etc.

How much is the transfer fee?

Assuming you wish to send money to a receiver in Ghana from Nigeria.

Let’s say you want to send N10k you will be charged N3k as transfer fee where the total amount payable will N13k NGN. The receiver will get GHS 109.35 Ghana Cedis as at the time of writing this piece.

What is the rate?

Going by the above transfer at the time of writing this piece 1 NGN = 0.010935 GHS.

How long does it take to transfer money on ATL?

Kindly understand that paying for your transfer with infinitecard is the fastest means to send money.

However, under this arrangement, transfers could take between 2 to 3 working days to be cleared and arrived in the preferred bank account at the receiver’s residence country.

What is ATL transfer limit?

The maximum sending amount per transaction on the ATL money transfer platform is N10million NGN, while the minimum sending amount per transaction from Nigeria is N1000 NGN.

If you are sending from the UK, the minimum amount you can send is 10 Pounds or its equivalent, while the maximum send amount is 900 Pounds per year before account verification.

Mind you, once your account gets verified you can send up to 10,000 Pounds per transaction via bank transfer and a max of 5,000 Pounds through card, you are at liberty to complete more than one card payment per day.

Can I pay for the transfer with my credit or debit card?Sure you can. However a small charge of 0.50% applies when using a GBP debit card, while a credit card attract a 3% charge for processing
What details do I need to send money to someone’s bank account?This may differ depending on the receiver’s residence country.   However, in most of the transfers you would need the receiver’s account details and the bank SWIFT/IBAN number
Can I still amend my beneficiary details once transaction is confirmed?Your beneficiary’s details cannot be amended once the transfer has been confirmed for security concerns.   You should however cancel the transfer immediately and create a new one with the correct beneficiary details.  
How do I cancel a transaction?Your transaction can be cancelled if your deal status is 25%, however a deal status of 50% means that the deal has been booked and the currency has already been purchased. How to track ATL money transfer

Tracking your transfer will give you a first-hand information of your transaction status after it has been sent. On completion of every transfer you will receive a tracking code.

To confirm the transaction status; in progress, paid out, available for payment, declined, cancelled, etc. You will need to track such transfers using the tracking code obtained.

Now track your ATL transfer, in the box provided enter your code, and your transaction status will be displayed.
