FG to fix Ikorodu-Shagamu road with N20.8b. The federal government has finally awarded Ikorodu-Shagamu road, that can be associated with great economic importance in Southwest Nigeria.

Federal government has approved the sum of N20.8b for the project, the Minister of Information Lai Muhammad can confirm.

The Minister highlights this development while addressing the state house correspondent briefly after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Muhammad Buhari.

Citing the project will advance towards reducing operating cost, to further enhance easy access and transportation of petroleum and agricultural products within the region.

In a separate development, FEC has given a consideration for installation of fully automated fire and smoke aircraft training simulation by awarding a contract of sum of N4, 233.75b for the project.

According to the Minister of information Laid Mohammad:

“this firefighting equipment is extremely very important because when we came into government in 2015, I found myself approving several hundreds of thousands of dollars for our fire fighters to go to Cameroun to get trained for proficiency in firefighting and come back to fight fire in Nigeria with 30 airports.

We cannot continue to depend on a neighbouring country to learn how to fight fire. So, we conceptualised and developed the project. Federal fire service, state governments and anybody can leverage on the equipment that we will bring to fight fire.”

Hope to see significant progress in this direction.
