While the commission is yet to issue a statement regarding the development, credible reports suggest he could face charges over abuse of office.

Adeniyi was the chairman of the defunct Skye bank till July 2016, when he was sacked alongside other board members and management.

The bank had last year written officially to the presidency, seeking assistance to recovering funds Adeniyi had illegally obtained as a chairman.

The Central Bank in September 2018, revoked the bank’s operating license and handed it over to a bridge bank, named Polaris.

AMCON was mandated to pump in N786 billion into Polaris bank limited.

According to the Nigerian Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, she had in October 2018 asked National  Deposit Insurance Commission (NDIC) to investigate the possible causes that brought the bank to her knees, stating that all found culpable will face the law.
